First, you must decide what you want to do for a living. This is the most important decision you will make in regards to your business. It must be something you enjoy, and something you can live with everyday until you retire. For more information on choosing your business, see our article, "Choosing The Right Business".

Once you have chosen your business, you must think very carefully about what is required to start your business. The next thing you must see about it your local laws. Can you legally run a business from your home? Do you need special permits from your local government? Check out our Legal Department for more information.

Once you have clearance from your local government to actually run a business from your home, the next step is to decide what exactly is needed to run your business. Do you need special equipment? Office supplies? Financing may be needed for these things. First, figure out exactly what it is that you need, then make a list, get estimates on the items needed, find the best prices, then sit down with your calculator and decide how much money you need to start your business. So now, you have financing for your business...and it's time to actually start working. Set up your home office in a section of your house where there won't be too many interruptions or distractions during your work hours. See our article on "Setting Up Your Home Office" for more information.

So now your ready to start. You have your office set up, you have your city governments okay, you got financed and have all the equipment and supplies you need...now all you need is business...which leads you to our Marketing Department. Your business must be publicized to the full extent, the more advertising you do, the more business you are likely to get. If you are like most of us, you have a lot to learn about marketing, and hopefully, we have provided everything necessary here for you to learn.

Once business is booming, you may have occasion to visit our Management Department for information on making sure your business continues to run smoothly, get ideas for making that happen, and possibly find help for your particular problems having to do with managing your business.
