The majority of Venture Capital Companies lend amounts between $250,000 and $10,000,000, sometimes more. Most have set limits that they are willing to invest. A few only invest in businesses in particular regions or particular industries. Others will invest in any United States based company.
Venture Capitalist are partial to Biotechnology and high technology, but also lend money to all other types of businesses as well. Retail and consumer companies only receive backing if they have a high growth potential.
Venture Capital is a good idea if you meet the following criteria:
* Extraordinarily high growth potential.
* Well experienced management.
* Proprietary products or services.
Before approaching venture capitalist, you need an outstanding business plan. Then you need to identify which companies you will present your plan to-research the venture capital companies you plan to approach before you actually talk to them.
You should be aware that there are a lot of scams in the world of venture capitalism. No matter what excuse or reason, NEVER pay fees of any kind for venture capital. It doesn't make sense to pay money to borrow money does it? NO MATTER WHAT REASON OR EXCUSE....DON'T PAY.
